The Hospital Management Team in behalf of the Board of
Governors of Matany Hospital wish first of all
to thank all the Hospital employees for the demanding and often
unrewarding work without which all what was achieved and described in this
report would have not been possible.
A special thanks goes also to all students of the Nursing Training School for their direct contribution in the care of the patients.
This report is direct to
· the Board of Governors of Matany Hospital
· the Health Authorities of the District and the Country
· the Diocesan Authorities
to whom is due: we want to thank them for having entrusted us with the task of service the people of Karamoja and of Bokora Zone in particular.
It also aims at reaching:
· all those organisations and benefactors who have made our work possible with their contribution: we want to give account of what we have done with the resources they have placed at our disposal, and thank them for their trust
· to the policy maker who may find interest for it; some issues raised do indeed suggest that new policies are needed: that they may find inspiration from its reading and thus help us in solving some of our problems
· to the patients we treat: that they may know that the many faults they detect in our service are not ignored by us ad that we are trying our best to remain faithful to our mission statement
· to all those who contributed to the collection of the data which made this work possible: may this feed-back motivate them towards an increasingly creative approach to data collection and management.
St. Kizito Hospitals operates with one goal: that of making the loving tender touch of Christ for the sick and the poor perceivable here and now, so that they may see, and believe, in Him, their Origin and Destiny.
We rejoice with and for all those who have encountered the Lord within the walls of the Hospital; we know that often we have made this encounter more difficult with our shortcomings and fragility: we ask forgiveness for it. Above everything else, we desire to remain faithful to the task, entrusted to us by the Church, of serving the sick: we are grateful to all those who made and who will make this task possible.
